A General Survey of the College of Chemistry and Materials Science

The College of Chemistry and Materials Science was established in 2002 by reorganization of the former Department of Chemistry and Institute for Polymer Research and Experimental Center. The college is composed of five academic units: the Department of Chemistry; the Department of Materials; the Department of Environment Science; the Institute for Polymer Research; the Institute of Environment Science; and the Experimental Center. And it has a Provincial Key Laboratory for Polymer Physics and Chemistry.The two projects, Research and Development of Advanced Materials, and Research and Development of Functional Materials and New Technologies are the key programs of Fujian Province. The college offers Ph. D degree in Polymer Chemistry and Physics, and MS degree in most disciplines of chemistry including physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, applied chemistry, materials science, materials processing engineering, materials physics and chemistry, environment science, and environment engineering. Among these programs, Polymer Physics and Chemistry is the key program in Fujian Province, while Physical Chemistry and Environment Science are the key programs of Fujian Normal University.
